Thank You to all 2007 Buddy Walk sponsors, donors, volunteers, vendors, entertainers, teams and walkers !!!
On behalf of all of us at the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada (DSOSN) - Board of Directors, Staff and Members, again this year, we can't say it enough - THANK YOU TO EVERYONE for helping to make the 2007 Buddy Walk such a grand success! Over 1,500 individuals turned out to participate in what ended up being a day of perfect day (despite the wind) with great food, fun and entertainment. Total revenues, to date, generated from the Buddy Walk for 2006 are totaling around $50,000 - and we are still counting!
We are still accepting donations towards the Buddy Walk online at Firstgiving.com and at the DSOSN office through November 2007. Team and individual walkers totals will be announced very shortly and instructions will be given as to how to receive your incentives. Also, a grand total of 2007 Buddy Walk income will be announced in December.

In-Kind Donors
One of our largest in-kind donors this year was from a very generous woman, Cindy Gordon from Runnels, Iowa, the owner of Happi Feet Tent weights. A couple of weeks ago Cindy didn't know us and we didn't know her. In projecting the possibility of a windy day at the Buddy Walk, we began googling tent weight websites and came across Happi Feet. I asked Cindy to give me price on the tents weights and it was way over what we could afford. Cindy was so concerned about our event that out of goodness of her heart she took DSOSN in Las Vegas under her wing and donated all the tent weights and paid for shipping as well. This donation was over $6,000! It just goes to show that there are caring and generous people everywhere. Cindy, thank you ever so much for your kindess and generosity. You really did save our day, as it could not of been a windier day.

Our headline entertainer for the Buddy Walk was supposed to be the band "Mid-Life Crisis" with DSOSN member Andy Anderson. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen technical difficulties they were able to play. The band and DSOSN were both extremely disappointed. 2008 BUDDY WALK
The 2008 Buddy Walk is tentatively scheduled for October 4th, 2008, again at Children's Memorial Park in northwest Las Vegas at the corners of Rainbow and Gowan (Picnic Area B West). Confirmation of these details will be announced early in the new year.
