DIMES FOR DOWN SYNDROME
Dimes for Down Syndrome is a community service project for school age children. Its purpose is to promote a positive understanding of Down syndrome within our community and to raise funds for the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada (DSOSN). It is a coin drive in which children are asked to bring in their spare change to raise money for programs and services.
100% of the funds you raise stay in the local community to help thousands of children and individuals affected by Down syndrome. These funds will help provide the following programs and services: music therapy, dance therapy, yoga therapy, speech therapy, support groups, life skill seminars, lending library and resource center and many others.
Schools can conduct their campaign in either October, November or December of this school year. The top fundraising class in each school will receive a luncheon celebration sponsored by McDonalds. And school can be eligible for other great prizes based on certain fundraising levels.
This is great opportunity for school children to learn the importance of giving and helping others. It teaches them valuable lessons in how their efforts can make a big difference by simply collecting spare change. We hope your school will consider Dimes for Down Syndrome as your school's community service projet this year.
