DSOSN Testimonials
- A Grateful Family
"How can I express the joy my daughter brings to our family, a family that was frightened and confused just a few short months ago? Thank you, my darling, for just being you. And thank you DSOSN for being there for us."
“I want you to know that our paths crossed for a reason, there was a connection that could not have happened with anyone else. There was a reason that we met. I thank you for the conversation. It was the beginning of my acceptance of Down syndrome. I’m glad you were there.
Physical Therapy Testimonials
We began PT in the late summer of 2008. We really didn't know what to expect from it. Was it just going to be the same routine every time, surrounded by strangers, in a strange place, and would we really benefit from going every Monday morning?? No. It was such a COMFORT, to be welcomed into a home-setting instead of a office or clinic exam room. It was a RELIEF to be able to make new friends and share smiles and some tears and to trade stories of how we all came to be there at that moment. It was UPLIFTING to see all the children actually getting one-on-one time, getting their individual needs addressed. It is WONDERFUL to hear the words of encouragement and of understanding from Karen the therapist. It is a PLEASURE working with everyone, together, all in support of our kids. Their smiles say it all. It isn't therapy, it's fun! Many thanks to Karen and Lindsey for all their LOVE and SUPPORT, we couldn't have come this far without you. Our hearts will never forget your kindness. We love PT and we love you. Keep up the wonderful work!
LOTS OF LOVE, Julianna "Duckie", Krista and Michael Eicher
Hello,
We started taking Jayna to the physical therapy sessions when she was 3 weeks old. Karen helped us from the very beginning by showing us how we should play with Jayna in ways that would strengthen her and help her with her hypotonia. Through the months she worked with Jayna and made great suggestions on OT and PT activities or even toys that we should try. The lessons we learned were invaluable. Jayna started standing up to the couch at 10 months and took her first steps shortly before her 1st birthday. We definitely have DSOSN and Karen to thank for the guidance and support shown to us.
Sincerely,
Jeff and Roz Hagen
Speech Therapy Testimonials
We very much appreciate having support for speech therapy for Lee.
The therapist knows what she is doing; she has a plan; and the weekly session provides emphasis and reinforcement for Lee. We observe that Lee is using what he is learning in his normal communications with us and with others. The therapist has worked with him on word endings and we can tell that he is doing better with that and it makes him easier to understand. Lee looks forward to his sessions.
Again, thanks to DSOSN and those that have donated for this program. Dayton, Geralee and Lee Wittke
To Whom It May Concern:
First, thank you so much for your generous support! My son, James Hulbert, has numerous therapies, because he is a child with Down Syndrome. It has been a great blessing to have part of his speech therapy taken care of through this wonderful program. He has made many improvements, and I also learn from my "homework assignments" given by our speech therapist, Kelli Granillo of Speech Patherapy. Again, my family appreciates your kind support.
Best Regards, Heidi Hulbert
First, I want to thank the generous donors.
Without their donations, I would not be able to send my son Daniel to speech therapy. He has made a lot of progress with Ms. Kelly Granillo. She has helped him increase his sounds, learn a few words, and imitate speech. It mean so much to hear Daniel talking.
Thank you very much.
