"WISH UPON A STAR" PROM A GRAND SUCCESS
The "Wish Upon A Star" Prom that took place on Saturday - August 16th, 2008 at the Los Prados Country Club was none other than a grand success - with a good time being had by everyone! Attendees included DSOSN teens and young adults as well as guests from Opportunity Village and New Vista Community.
The day started out with a "Girl's Day" of Pampering thanks to the donated services of DeAnna from Roni Josef Salon & Spa and other volunteers. The girls were treated to professional hair styling as well as getting their nails and make-up done. A fun time was had by mothers and daughters as everyone was made to look their absolute "beautiful best!
Guys and girls then meet at DSOSN to be escorted in style by limousine bus, donated by Celebrity Couches of America. Upon arrival everyone entered at the "red carpet" entrance into the most beautifully decorated prom you ever saw. Reflecting on the theme of "Wish Upon A Star" - stars, balloons, streamers and lights were glittering everywhere. Thank you to Freeman Company for donating the lamps and benches, and to All Star Events for donating the decorations. Also thank you to Richard Stearn, owner of Natural Touch Silks for donating the ivy for the arch where each attendee had their picture taken courtesy of professional photography services and materials donated by DSOSN member Debbie Avery. Thank you Debbie! Everyone was able to take their pictures home with them that evening as a memoribilia keepsake.
The evening then continued with everyone enjoying a very delicious Mexican cuisine dinner thanks to the fine chefs and staff at Los Prados. We thank everyone at Los Prados for being so courtesy to us and making everyone feel welcome.
And then the fun really kicked off with dancing the night away thanks to DSOSN member Andy Anderson and his band "Mid-Life Crisis." We thank them for all for donating their fabulous musical talents that everyone enjoyed tremendously. They were so awesome that you would of thought original artists were in the room when they sang all their songs. ANDY - THANKS SO MUCH - You Guys Were Great!
Towards the end of the evening the winners of the Prom Court were announced. Congratulations to All the Winners:
