A VERY SPECIAL EVENT

One of the primary objectives of the Christopher Smith Foundation (CSF), a collaborating partner of the DSOSN, is to recognize parents and caregivers who spend much of their time caring for their loved ones and/or others who are diagnosed with a disability.

Caregivers often forget to take care of one of the most important people in their lives; themselves. It is known that you can only care for others if you take care of yourself.

The Christopher Smith Foundation is proud to provide for family members who care for the profoundly vulnerable.

With the generous support of our donor network, we can provide mini-staycations and pampering to recharge the internal and essential caregiving battery within.

When we think of angels we think of lovely beings, ethereal spiritual emissaries, messengers, between God and men.

When I think of angels, I think of lovely beings too, including beautiful caregivers; like Sonny and Raquel. I also think of forty million more Americans who dedicate their lives to caring for the sick, the elderly and the disabled. These are the real life, living, breathing heroes who walk amongst us every day. They don’t sport wings, but these wonderful people are certainly sent from above.”

I am proud to announce that 20 of our parents/caregivers have been nominated for recognition by the CSF for the commitment and dedication that they have shown, not only for their loved ones, but also for all our members.

These 20 parents/caregivers will be honored by the founder of the CSF, Linda Smith, at a special recognition luncheon to be held at the DSOSN office building on Sunday, July 28th, at 1:00 pm.
