About The Program

This program is designed to introduce DSOSN members to the digital space in the wide world of the internet. It will also teach them how to access and utilize online informational, educational, and entertainment resources like everyone else. Some of the learning activities include understanding the basic key-functions on laptop computers; introduction to Microsoft Suite (MS word and PowerPoint); internet browsing; shopping online; sending email (and attaching documents); accessing and playing recreational games, and learning about social media protocols, etc. The classes are facilitated by two instructors, assisted by volunteers (usually from our local high schools), and presented in a very informal setting. Parents and/or caregivers are encouraged to attend the classes so that they can continue the learning process at home, between classes.
