DSOSN MEETING WITH THE CLEVELAND CLINIC AT THE LOU RUVO CENTER

  •  March 29, 2026
     2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

DAY/DATE: Sunday, March 29th

Place: The Lou Ruvo Center, 888 W Bonneville Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89106

About the event:

This event is the first of what we hope will be several similar meetings where DSOSN members and their families can benefit from information and services provided by the Cleveland Clinic, especially in areas and studies relating to the relationship of Alzheimer’s disease and Down syndrome.

At this meeting, presentations will be made by Lucille Carriere, Ph.D., Section Head, Behavior Health, and Dr. Charles Bernick, Senior Director, Cognitive Disorder, at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.

The presentations will focus on the connection between Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease, including what families may notice as people get older. They will also explain the services the Cleveland Clinic provides for people with Down syndrome who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, including support for memory, thinking, and behavior changes. Further, they will share information about the programs, supports, and research opportunities the clinic currently offers, and how these programs can help our individual members and their families.

The presentation will end with an open forum where attendees can ask questions and share what kinds of support or services would be most helpful to them.

Some of the services provided by the Cleveland Clinic include:

  • Evaluation, monitoring, and medications
  • Neuro-rehabilitation
  • Education & care planning
  • Caregiver support
  • Resources & safety
  • Long‑term planning

All DSOSN members and their families are invited to attend this meeting.
